20th Anniversary of ‘Corpse Bride‘ to be Celebrated at LightBox Expo

A 20th anniversary panel discussion of the stop-motion animated classic Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride and a lifetime achievement award for its namesake filmmaker are among the highlights of the 2025 LightBox expo, which is set Oct. 24-26 in Pasadena, Calif.

The LightBox Expo (LBX) announced on Wednesday the lineup for the 7th annual three-day event, which will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center. Last year, the event that highlights the best in animation, live-action, illustration and video games attracted more than 16,000 attendees.

Directed by Burton and Mike Johnson, Corpse Bride, which stars the voices of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson and Christopher Lee, was released in theaters on Sept. 23, 2003.

Corpse Bride went on to be nominated for Best Animated Feature by the Oscars, the Annie Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards, and was named Best Animated Feature by the National Board of Review in 2005. To commemorate the film’s anniversary, Warner Bros. is releasing Corpse Bride on 4K Ultra HD on Sept. 23,and the film will also return to theaters for a limited time in October.

LBX is also celebrating the 20th anniversary with a special screening of the film, followed by a panel conversation with artists Ian McKinnon, Carlos Magno, and Joe Johnston, who worked on the movie.
