The Lenovo device comes with high specifications, including an Intel i9-13980HX processor and an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics processing unit, along with an integrated liquid cooling system. The system uses a small pump to circulate water through a network of tubes, helping to maintain cooling even under heavy loads. In addition to the water cooling system, the Y9000K 2023 also features a number of other advanced specifications. If you’ve ever wondered what a Switch would look like on Windows 11, you have your answer: the Legion Go. This new portable console from Lenovo follows in the footsteps of the ROG Ally and the Steam Deck, promising good performance on the move. However, it stands out for two elements, namely an XL size screen and wireless controllers that clip on the sides like Nintendo’s JoyCons.
The console is a beautiful baby weighing more than 850 grams which offers an 8.8 inch 144 Hz 16:10 screen. It’s big: in comparison, the Switch OLED and the Steam Deck only have a 7-inch panel. Under the hood, we find the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor already seen on the ROG Ally, 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage that can be inflated thanks to a micro-SD port.
The controllers are intriguing given that the one on the right has an optical sensor, which allows it to be manipulated flat on a desk like a vertical mouse. There is also a mouse wheel as well as various customizable buttons and a small touchpad. A kickstand similar to that of the Switch OLED is hidden at the back of the tablet, which will be more comfortable on the move.
If the product is attractive, we wonder what will happen to the battery: this type of device almost never exceeds two hours once pushed to its limits, and the large screen of the Legion Go should not help . Lenovo, however, promises a larger battery than the average and the possibility of recovering 70% of autonomy in half an hour thanks to fast charging. Two USB-C ports will allow you to add certain accessories while remaining connected to the mains.
And the price ? The console will be sold from €799 in November with 512 GB of storage. This is the same price as the ROG Ally, on which Lenovo has a head start on paper thanks to its innovations. However, this price remains much higher than that of the Steam Deck (679 €), which has recently been available at 339 € refurbished and to which you can easily add a larger SSD.
