The murder of two elderly people in the village of Vodrista, in the area of ​​Dropoli, in Albania, has caused a shock. According to enikos.gr, the police have proceeded to arrest three suspects, who are currently being questioned about the case.

The mayor of Dropolis, Dimitris Tolis, said that, “according to what I know and believe, it is a murder. In fact, the police authorities have brought in 3 suspects, while a DNA report is also expected to verify if there is genetic material of those brought in the couple’s house or around it, such as in the yard, where the man was found dead”.

According to him, “it is very sad what happened. It was a couple he had never engaged with before, for any reason. He didn’t even have children, only some relatives from Athens, who, as I learn, go up to the area on an emergency basis to find out if anything is missing from the house or their personal belongings.”

As Mr. Tolis mentioned, the two unfortunate elderly people had bruises and blows to the head, which were probably achieved with the use of some object.

The forensic examination, which is expected to shed light on the cause of death, has not yet been completed.

At the same time, as stated by Leonidas Pappas, former president of “Omonoia”, “the couple has been away for some time in Athens, where they have some relatives. They returned to the village only to collect their pensions, which had not been collected for a long time and a good amount had been collected.”

Regarding the three main suspects being interrogated, he revealed that “they are two natives of Dropoli, but also a shepherd”.

“Information circulating in the area is that this is a robbery, given that people had only received their pensions the day before. In fact, it is assumed that the woman immediately succumbed to her injuries, while the man tried to escape and failed, so he ended up in the yard,” he added, describing how the brutal crime happened in Vodritsa Dropolis in Albania.

The police are continuing their investigations.
