Various publications and even message chains have been circulating on social media offering alleged loans granted by the Banco del Bienestar, which is why the Federal Government has called on the general population to avoid falling into fraud.

“Remember that Banco del Bienestar does not grant loans or request information through phone calls,” the state bank warned through its official social media accounts.

As evidence of one of the fake posts, an image is shown in which a page called “Prestar Simple-Préstamo Rápido” through a profile on the Facebook platform offers the public the option of accessing immediate loans for amounts of 10 thousand, 20 thousand, 30 thousand or up to 50 thousand pesos.

Omar García Palomares, the new regional director of the Welfare Programs, said that the information circulating is false and called on the population to be cautious and use official media to stay informed.

“To avoid falling for scams, it is recommended not to share personal data with websites or numbers from unknown parties, as this is often used for identity theft, and sometimes they even ask for money in exchange for registration or some bank details,” warned director García Palomares.

However, this has not been the only way of attracting potential victims of fraud, as a message has also been reported circulating on WhatsApp that ‘invites’ women aged 18 and over to join the supposed “Bono Mujer” program to receive up to 2,850 pesos. This case has also been denied by the authorities.

“We do not have a bonus from the Ministry of Welfare at the Federal level called ‘women’s bonus’ or any similar program. We manage the already known programs for Older Adults, People with Disabilities, among other programs,” said the official.

The Ministry of Welfare has only five accounts on the various social media platforms, so the authority specified them so that users can only consult those profiles and be aware of important dates or announcements about the programs at:
