Mladá Boleslav – Škoda Auto announced record revenues for 2025, driven by a nearly 12.7% increase in vehicle sales, reaching almost 1.044 million units. This marks the brand’s best delivery result in the last six years, according to the automaker. While sales haven’t yet returned to pre-pandemic levels – 1.25 million vehicles were sold in 2018 – revenue has more than doubled since then, reaching approximately €30.1 billion (CZK 737.45 billion) compared to nearly €417 billion CZK in 2018.
The Czech automaker’s success extends beyond volume, with Škoda becoming the third best-selling brand in Europe overall and the fourth most popular electric vehicle manufacturer on the continent. Chairman of the Board Klaus Zellmer highlighted the achievement, stating, “In the 130th anniversary year of our company, we achieved the highest revenues, operating profit and net cash flow in history, exceeded one million vehicles delivered and, for the first time, ranked among the three best-selling brands in Europe.” Škoda too reported a doubling of sales in India, a market identified as having significant growth potential.
This strong performance comes as Škoda continues to invest heavily in electrification. The company plans to launch two recent all-electric models in 2026: the Epiq crossover and the Peaq seven-seater SUV. These additions will join the existing Enyaq and Elroq electric vehicles, alongside new hybrid versions of the Superb and Kodiaq. According to board member Martin Jahn, offering customers a choice of powertrains remains crucial, with a continued portfolio of combustion engine vehicles alongside electric and hybrid options.
The company anticipates offering a total of 14 model ranges – encompassing combustion, hybrid and fully electric options – across global markets by the end of the year, with three of those specifically tailored for India and Vietnam.
Record Sales Driven by Global Demand
Škoda’s 2025 financial results demonstrate a significant turnaround, with revenues increasing from €27.8 billion in 2024 to €30.1 billion in 2025. Operating profit also saw an increase, rising from €2.3 billion to €2.5 billion during the same period. The Octavia remains the brand’s best-selling model, having surpassed one million units sold since the fourth generation’s launch in 2020. Following the Octavia, the Kodiaq, Kamiq, and Fabia models recorded the highest delivery numbers in 2025.
Leadership Transition in Corporate Communications
Alongside the positive financial news, Škoda Auto announced a change in leadership within its Corporate Communications department. Jozef Baláž has returned to the role he previously held from 2011 to 2017, succeeding Tomáš Kotera, who is leaving the company after more than 25 years of service to pursue new opportunities. According to Tom Drechsler, Head of Škoda Auto Communications, Baláž’s extensive experience within Škoda and the broader Volkswagen Group will be invaluable during this period of transformation and growth. Škoda Auto confirmed the appointment on September 30, 2025.
Electrification Strategy Gains Momentum
Škoda’s commitment to electrification is evident in its upcoming model lineup. The Epiq, a new all-electric crossover, is slated for release in the first half of 2026, followed by the Peaq, a seven-seat family SUV. These models will complement the existing Enyaq and Elroq electric vehicles, as well as the newly introduced hybrid versions of the Superb and Kodiaq. This expansion of electric and hybrid options reflects a broader trend towards sustainable mobility across Europe, while Škoda continues to cater to diverse customer preferences.
Looking ahead, Škoda Auto is poised to continue its growth trajectory, leveraging its strong brand reputation, expanding product portfolio, and strategic focus on key markets like India. The company’s commitment to electrification and innovation will be crucial in navigating the evolving automotive landscape.
