Jakarta: Leading Indian cricketers P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen miss the semifinals of the Indonesian Open Super Series 500. In the quarterfinals, Sindhu lost to Thailand’s Rachanok Inton in straight sets (12-21, 10-21) and lost to Taiwan’s Tian Chen Chow in three sets (21-16 12-21 21-14). Sindhu, the fourth seed, surrendered without even facing the fifth seed Intonon. Seventh-seeded Lakshya gave up the first set once morest third-seeded Chen Chow and then fought back to grab the second set but gave up the game in the decisive third set.

Bangkok: India’s PV Sindhu was eliminated in the semifinals of the Thailand Open badminton tournament.
Sindhu lost to Olympic gold medalist Chen Yufei of China in the semi-finals on Saturday. Sindhu lost the straight games (17-21, 16-21) at the Impact Arena in Bangkok. This is Sindhu’s fifth defeat in the last 11 matches once morest Chen Yufei.
With Sindhu also out, India’s fight at the Thailand Open came to an end. Kidambi Srikanth was knocked out in the second round following Saina Nehwal and Thomas Cup winner HS Pranoy were eliminated earlier.
Earlier in the quarter, Sindhu defeated world number one Akane Yamaguchi to advance to the semi-finals.
