Didn’t you feel afraid to present a character like “Heba” with its boldness and detail?
I had no fear, and I knew that the role would be presented honestly and not vulgar, and I did not feel that there were criticisms directed at the series or the character, because Maryam Abu Auf is a fine director, and you will see that world in a non-vulgar and non-vulgar way, so the role of “Heba” did not concern me, as it I started 9 years ago in this field and it’s time to introduce different characters, this is the joy of acting, the character of “Heba” was not easy not because of the dance but because it has many feelings.
How were your preparations to embody that character? Did you have any modifications to it?
I studied oriental dance, and I received courses in it from the Center for Contemporary Dance, in addition to that I love oriental dance, and I love watching its videos, and I identified that world, and I had no modifications, but I was afraid of dyeing my hair with oxygen, so the fashion designer Reem El-Adl wanted me to do that. And Reham Abdel Ghafour, and Reham did it and I was very afraid, but I was able to do other things that connect the character without dyeing my hair with oxygen.
What regarding the scenes of this work?
My work with the artist Iyad Nassar had an important role in the success of the series, and I was happy that we left Cairo and filmed in Tanta, where we discussed the lives of a large group of people, and my experience with Reham Abdel Ghafour was a wonderful experience, because Reham is a good, supportive, kind and dear friend. I was very happy with her, and she was like a sister to me inside and outside of photography.
The series achieved extraordinary reactions?
I was optimistic and surprised that the series had achieved a very great success since it was shown on a platform, although not all people have a platform, but the work reached very many people, and I knew that the series would achieve greater success and spread, when it was shown on TV, but I was not expecting This great success from its first show, and, thank God, the work was received wonderfully, and the audience and a number of critics praised the level of work, and this matter made me very happy, especially that the work team made a great effort in preparing for the series to come out in this honorable picture, I touched the audience’s admiration for the work following Show the first episode.
And how do you find the idea of presenting business on the platforms?
Digital platforms have become a powerful window for all artistic works, and the public is clearly following them, and good work imposes itself whether it is shown on television or on a digital platform.
What are the criteria for choosing roles?
I do not present works only for the sake of presence, but I always want to present works that people remember and live on, and drama has become very strong now in light of the decline of cinema, and series have become similar to cinema. You come out of it with a good feeling, the role of art is to play down people and make them happy.
What regarding your participation in the series “Mulberry Paper”?
I started filming it since last September, and through it I present the character of a girl named Samia who is poor, works in the subway and studies acting, and I am very excited to work in the series, especially since there is a great interaction between me and the team, and I am happy to repeat the experience with director Hossam Ali, following success What we achieved together in the series “The Journey”, and the series received great support from the United Nations and the National Council for Women, and they may have some reservations, or they may still think regarding the number of its episodes or its presentation on the Umm TV platform.
What are the details of your participation in the series “The Novel”?
I filmed it only two days and I don’t know when we will resume filming once more, and I present through it the character of a theater actress who studies in theatrical arts and has a theater show and a crime occurs at the beginning of the events and we discover the passage of events from the killer.
