“The risk of infection in the general population is low”said the WHO on December 15, 2022, regarding the cases of streptococcal A infections, on the rise in several European countries. These bacteria, most often benign, can be responsible for serious cases.
According to the WHO, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom have been affected by an increase in cases. But the risk of spreading to the general population “will be measured continuously”promises the WHO.

Two children and an adult died in France
In France, Public Health France confirmed on Monday December 12, 2022 a “Increase in non-invasive group A streptococcal (GAS) infections, including scarlet fever since September 2022”. At least two children and one adult have died in hospital due to complications from these infections.
Two deaths have also been recorded in Spain. In the United Kingdom, the British Health Security Agency announced that these bacteria had caused at least six deaths.
NASA’s Orion spacecraft entered distant lunar orbit on Friday, November 25, 2022, on the tenth day of the Artemis 1 mission, NASA, the US space agency, said on Friday.
“During this lunar orbit, flight controllers will monitor critical (Orion) systems and perform checks related to the deep space environment,” the agency said in a blog post.
A test mission
This new capsule, which should take astronauts to the Moon in the coming years, the first to set foot on its surface since the last Apollo mission in 1972, is currently traveling more than 64,000 kilometers from the Moon.
At this distance, it will take no less than six days to cover half a lunar orbit, before beginning the return journey to Earth.

Return to Earth scheduled for December 11
This first test flight of the Orion spacecraft, without a crew on board, must be used to ensure that the vehicle is safe.
The landing in the Pacific Ocean is scheduled for December 11, following just over 25 days of flight.
The success of this mission depends on the future of Artemis 2, which will take astronauts around the Moon without landing, then Artemis 3, which will finally mark the return of humans to the lunar surface. These missions are officially scheduled to take place in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
