Istanbul: Israel’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said that they are recalling their diplomats from Turkey. The action comes following Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks accusing Israel.
Erdogan criticized Israel while speaking at a pro-Palestinian rally attended by thousands in Istanbul.
Then the Israeli Foreign Minister recalled the Turkish diplomats. “In light of the accusations coming from Turkey, I have ordered the return of the diplomatic representatives there to reassess the relationship between Israel and Turkey,” Eli Cohen said on his X account.
Erdogan said the West was the ‘main culprit’ for the Israeli army’s massacre of Palestinians in Gaza.
The West weeps over the deaths of civilians in Ukraine. But Erdogan also accused them of turning a blind eye to the deaths of Palestinian citizens in Gaza. He added that Israel’s allies were creating a ‘crusading atmosphere’ pitting Christians once morest Muslims. He said that we are once morest this double standard and hypocrisy.
“I repeat that Hamas is not a terrorist organization. Israel is an occupying power. The main culprits behind the Gaza riots are the West.
Israel continues to openly commit war crimes for 22 consecutive days. Yet Western leaders cannot even ask Israel to cease firing. Israel is trying to wipe out the Palestinians. We will let the whole world know that Israel is a war criminal. We are making preparations for this. “Of course Israel will be declared a war criminal,” Erdogan said at a pro-Palestinian rally in Turkey.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also responded to the incident.
“Don’t accuse us of war crimes. “We are the most moral army in the world,” Netanyahu said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed by telephone on Monday the current state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the Turkish communications directorate said in a statement.
The two leaders discussed ways to establish peace in the region and urgent measures to resolve the grave humanitarian crisis.
Erdogan stressed that Turkey expects effective initiatives from the international community, especially Western countries, once morest human rights violations in Gaza.
He stressed the importance of remembering and fulfilling the promises made to Palestine over the years, instead of taking provocative measures that worsen the crisis.
Ten days following the start of the conflict with the Palestinian group Hamas, the Israeli bombing and blockade of the Gaza Strip continued, with more than a million people displaced – almost half of Gaza’s total population – according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Gaza is suffering a severe humanitarian crisis without electricity, as water, food, fuel and medical supplies run out, forcing civilians to flee south following Israeli warnings to evacuate northern areas.
The fighting began when Hamas carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, a multi-pronged surprise attack that included a barrage of rocket fire and infiltrations into Israel by land and sea. and aerial. He said the incursion was in retaliation for incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the escalation of settler violence.
The Israeli army then launched Operation Iron Swords once morest Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
The toll of Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza has risen to at least 2,750, including 750 children.
On the Israeli side, the death toll stands at 1,300.

A sharper decline of 15% in imports narrowed the trade deficit to a five-month low of $19.4 billion in September from the revised $21.6 billion in August.
Sequentially, the outbound shipments shrank 10% in September.
“Green shoots are confirmed by the September data. The October weekly trend data is also positive. We expect positive growth in the next six months,” said commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal.
On August export data being revised upwards by above $4 billion, officials attributed the rise of around $1.1 billion to petroleum product prices, around $660 million to engineering goods, and $452 million to electronic goods exports.
“Reconciliation of IceGate data and DGCIS takes place and sometimes some shipments get subject to more scrutiny and come with a lag,” said an official.August was the first month in the 2023-24 financial year (FY24) where exports grew. In the gems and jewellery sector, meanwhile, exports contracted 16.03% as they were hit by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the sanctions on Russia, issues related to sourcing of diamonds and recession in developed countries, officials said. According to Barthwal, engineering goods, electronics, marine, ceramics, drugs and agriculture exports are “doing well” despite some restrictions (on food) as the country is concerned regarding its food security.During April-September (H1), merchandise exports contracted 8.77% to $211.4 billion. Imports during H1FY24 shrank 12.23% to $326.98 billion.
A Sakthivel, president of Federation of Indian Export Organisations, said sluggish growth and demand in major economies like the EU, UK and China, coupled with the subdued growth in economies like the US and Australia, has led to such a declining trend in exports once once more though the downward movement is “largely arrested”.
“There is an improvement in the production capacity because of production linked incentive schemes. The import substitution policy is working well and commodity prices are declining which is reflecting on the imports. It helps in containing inflation too,” he said.
Among markets, while exports to the US have declined, those to the Netherlands and Russia have increased, thereby countering the fall in other markets.
New markets like Turkey for office equipment and Finland, Malta and the Philippines for drug formulations have opened up.
Trade pacts
On the India-UK free trade agreement, Barthwal said he met his British counterpart in the UK last week and another meeting is likely in Delhi this week. “The negotiations are in advanced stage. We are ironing out the differences.. we are doing negotiations on a weekly basis,” he said.
