Sreenath VS and Nehal Maria Mathew are champions in the All India Tennis Association Talent Series Under-14 tournament. Children from Kerala won the singles and doubles titles in all categories. Around 70 children from Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Andhra states participated in the championship.
In boys singles, Srinath from Thiruvananthapuram defeated Ahbin Nanna from Malappuram Edapall to become the champion. Score 6-3, 6-3. Ernakulam native Nehal won the title by defeating Lakshmi Shahana 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 in the girls’ singles. In boys doubles, Srinath Srikarthik beat Advait and Suven. Score 6-1, 6-1.
In the girls’ doubles, Pavitra and Vaiga defeated Gauri and Deepshikha. Score 5-7, 7-5, 10-4. The tournament was jointly organized by the Kerala Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs and Sports Kerala Foundation under the leadership of Kerala Tennis Association and Thiruvananthapuram District Tennis Association.
