The German actor Ernst-Georg Schwill died at the age of 81 in a Berlin hospital, as reported by the Eulenspiegel publishing group. According to the German newspaper “Express” he is said to have had a heart attack.
“The small and always berliner actor was very popular,” writes his publisher. “Relatives, publishing employees, readers and television viewers will remember him well.”
Awareness through “crime scene”
He became known as an assistant to Lutz Weber in the “Tatort” thanks to his “Berlin snout”. He was also seen in the film adaptation of The Tower.
In 2008 he published his autobiography “Isn’t a question not a question”. In it he also tells of the time after the GDR in which he had to play small roles – but he did it with a lot of passion. “They add flavor to the films,” he says. (bnr)
