Taxes: nearly 80% of French people think that the money collected is misused

In total, 484,448 people took part in the consultation, with a strong overrepresentation of income tax payers who represent 86% of respondents, while only 44% of households pay it. Consent to tax is high, with 88% of respondents agreeing that “paying taxes is a civic act”but 78% consider that the money withdrawn is badly used, only 18% finding that it is well.

The budget items to be prioritized are health for 65% of respondents, national education, higher education and research (47%), the environment (31%), security (28%) and justice (25%). “First budget item”, however, pensions are not mentioned “only by a fifth of declarants”, raises the government.
