A taxi driver who deliberately hit a pigeon has been arrested by police.

He is accused of violating the wildlife protection law, according to the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun reported on Tuesday. The 50-year-old saw a flock of pigeons on the street in front of a traffic light in Tokyo. When the traffic light turned green, he immediately accelerated and drove into the birds, they said.
