2024-02-17 18:37:00

While the public and judicial authorities were meeting this Friday in Liège to find solutions to the increase in vandalism once morest Tec buses, a new attack was observed in the evening, this Friday, February 16.

According to our colleagues from Sudinfo, it was around 8:10 p.m. this Friday, on line 21, that a stone was thrown at a bus. The incident allegedly occurred near Boulevard Sainte Beuve in Saint-Nicolas. A side window, on the right side of the bus, was apparently broken by the impact.

The police authorities were notified and intervened to take the driver’s statement.

As a reminder, since the start of the year, the number of incidents of vandalism recorded has been particularly high on the Tec Liège-Verviers lines. We have thus counted nearly 110 incidents in less than two months… This is a net increase of almost 60% compared to the same period in 2023.

The bus driver was taken into custody this Friday evening. An investigation was opened to find the perpetrator of this attack.
