A teenager has died following being attacked by a shark in the state of South Australia, Australian police reported Thursday.

Local police were called on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. (4:00 a.m. Belgian time) for a shark attack on Ethel Beach, not far from Adelaide. “Unfortunately, the body of a teenager was recovered,” she said later, following reporting a seriously injured person.

The boy was 14 years old, according to national public broadcaster ABC. At the time of the attack, he was approximately 40 meters from the shore.

This is the third fatal shark attack this year in South Australia. In October, a 55-year-old man died following being attacked while surfing. A 46-year-old surfer was also reportedly killed in a shark attack in May. His body has never been found.
