A petting zoo in southeast Virginia is shutting out federal officials who want to inspect the farm to ensure the humane care of its animals, the US said in a lawsuit.
Officials with the Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service have attempted to inspect Teeny Tiny Farm LLC facilities seven times in the past eight months, but farm contacts have denied inspectors access, the US said.
The farm exhibits guinea pigs, rabbits, ponies, and other farm animals at its facility in Suffolk.
