On March 1, 2022, the almost comprehensive short-term parking zone came into force in Vienna. With the expansion to all districts, a total of 229,000 public parking spaces that were previously free to use became subject to charges. In the new parking sticker districts of Floridsdorf, Donaustadt, Liesing and Hietzing alone, as well as in Simmering, where the zone was expanded, the city has issued more than 145,000 additional parking stickers.
