Tesla will make the Model Y much cheaper in Belgium. The price of the SUV drops by 4,000 euros, as the American electric car brand announced on Wednesday.
According to their own words, Tesla can reduce the price through efficiency gains in production processes. Thus, Tesla now asks 43,970 euros for the basic version of the Model Y, compared to 47,970 euros previously. The price of the most expensive version, the Model Y Performance, drops to 56,970 euros.
Last week, Tesla launched a promotion in Belgium, offering a few Model Y stock vehicles at 39,999 euros. As a result, the SUV is eligible for the 5,000 euro bonus from the Flemish government for the purchase of fully electric cars. This only applies to cars costing 40,000 euros or less.
It is not only in Belgium that Tesla is lowering the prices of the Model Y: in other European countries as well, notably in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Norway, the SUV is becoming cheaper.
This model was the second best-selling car in Belgium last year.
