Cui Dongxu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, said that Tesla shipped 100,291,000 cars in China in November, compared to 71,704 in October, which is regarding double the cars delivered by the company in the same period last year at 52,859,000.

According to Cui’s statements issued today, Monday, annual deliveries from the Tesla factory in Shanghai might reach 750,000 cars in 2022.

However, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter, earlier today that Tesla plans to cut production in Shanghai this week.

The electric car maker also made two recalls in China in November, with the aim of over-the-air software fixes and some vehicles to be returned for service.

Doubts regarding the safety of Tesla products increased following a recent crash that killed two people in the southern part of the country, involving a Model Y.

Tesla faces intense competition in the world’s largest market for electric cars, as the “zero Covid” policy and recent lockdowns have limited potential customers in major cities such as Guangzhou and Chengdu for cars.
