ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – The No. 4 Texas A&M women’s golf team is set to compete in the GameAbove Invitational, marking their third spring tournament of the season. The competition will accept place at the Rolling Hills Country Club, beginning Monday, March 9 and concluding Tuesday, March 10. This event features a strong field, with several of the nation’s top programs vying for the title.
The Aggies will begin play on Monday at 9:50 a.m. With the second round immediately following the completion of the first 18 holes. Tuesday’s final round will also be streamed live. Fans can follow the action with live stats available at scoreboard.clippd.com. The second round and Tuesday’s competition will be streamed on the CGN Youtube Channel.
Leading the way for Texas A&M are Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio and Vanessa Borovilos, both of whom are honored as Spring ANNIKA Award Watch List honorees. Both golfers are currently ranked within the top 20 of collegiate golfers and have each secured an individual title this season, earning them recognition as SEC Golfers of the Week. The GameAbove Golf Invitational promises a challenging test against some of the best collegiate golfers in the country.
Alongside Fernández García-Poggio and Borovilos, the Aggies will field a team including Sky Sudberry, and freshmen Bynn Kort and Natalie Yen. Sudberry has consistently competed in every stroke play event for the team this year, while Kort has already made an impact with three top-10 finishes in her debut season. Yen has also demonstrated her talent with a pair of top-10 placements in her freshman campaign.
Strong Field Assembles at Rolling Hills
The GameAbove Golf Invitational boasts a highly competitive field, featuring three of the top four teams in the nation: No. 2 USC, No. 3 Oregon, and No. 4 Texas A&M. Rounding out the top 25 are No. 11 UCLA and No. 22 Arizona. The tournament will also include Southern Methodist University (SMU), Eastern Michigan University, the University of Colorado, the University of Tulsa, Long Beach State, and the University of Hawaii. The event, hosted by Southern California, aims to elevate visibility for women’s golf while providing a high-level competitive platform, according to the tournament website.
