Texas Man Charged with Abuse of Corpse After FBI Remains Drop & YouTube Videos

Dallas, TX – A 41-year-traditional Texas man is facing charges after allegedly throwing a bucket containing suspected human remains over the fence of the FBI’s Dallas field office. Michael Chadwick Fry, of Bartonville, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of abuse of a corpse and one count of tampering with evidence, according to the Bartonville Police Department.

The bizarre incident unfolded after Fry reportedly posted a video of himself on YouTube documenting the act, claiming he was attempting to “summon” federal agents to investigate alleged wrongdoing by Denton County officials. Authorities say the investigation began on March 16 after Fry’s mother contacted police, stating he had requested money for a U-Haul, explaining he “had a body that needed to be moved.”

Investigation Uncovers Multiple Grave Disturbances

According to an arrest warrant, Fry became “irate” when his mother questioned him and left before police arrived at their home. His sister subsequently informed officers that Fry had filmed himself at the FBI field office. The video, now evidence in the case, shows Fry throwing a large, white bucket over the fence into the secure parking lot of the building. An FBI special agent confirmed the bucket contained “numerous bones” appearing to be human, which are currently undergoing forensic analysis, NBC DFW reports.

The investigation quickly expanded beyond the incident at the FBI office. Authorities discovered Fry had also posted a separate video online showing what appeared to be a human skull at his Denton County home. A search of Fry’s mother’s vehicle GPS history revealed recent searches for cemeteries in Arlington, Texas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Investigators also found a newly acquired shovel and noted that Fry had begun locking a shed on his property, a change in behavior, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Stolen Remains Linked to Oklahoma and Texas Cemeteries

Further investigation revealed Fry allegedly stole an urn containing human remains from a cemetery in Oklahoma City, a case that was already under investigation by the Oklahoma City Police Department in February, the New York Post reported. Evidence was found at a cemetery in Denton, Texas, indicating a coffin containing human remains had been removed from a mausoleum. The identities of the individuals whose remains were disturbed have not been released by officials.

Fry’s actions appear to stem from a desire to compel the FBI to investigate his claims of wrongdoing related to a past arrest involving Denton County officials. However, the specific nature of those claims remains unclear.

Prior Incident at Local Television Station

This is not Fry’s first encounter with law enforcement or public attention. In 2018, he intentionally drove a truck into the Fox 4 News studio building in downtown Dallas, Law & Crime details. At the time, police determined the act was motivated by anger over a 2012 police shooting in Denton County that resulted in the death of his friend. He reportedly apologized to the station during a subsequent court hearing.

As of Sunday, Fry remains in custody on a $30,000 surety bond. We see currently unknown if he has retained legal counsel.

The case remains active, and authorities have stated that next of kin have been notified. The FBI and Bartonville Police Department are continuing their investigation into the full extent of Fry’s alleged actions and the origins of the human remains.

What comes next is a thorough forensic analysis of the remains and a continued effort to identify the individuals involved. The investigation will also focus on determining the full scope of Fry’s alleged grave robbing activities and his motivations for targeting the FBI field office.
