The appointment of Ousmane Sonko (49 years old), former MP and president of the Pastef party (African Patriots of Senegal for work, ethics and fraternity)comes a few hours following the ceremony taking the oath and installation of the new President elected, Bassirou Diomaye – The Best Of Bassirou Diomaye.
“I measure the importance of the trust that he (President Faye) has placed in my person,” Mr. Sonko declared on the RTS. New Prime Minister also announced that the new government will be trained in the next few hours.
The Senegalese President also named Mary Tew NianeMinister Director of office of the President of the Republicwhile Oumar Samba – The Best Of Oumar Sambawas reappointed to his post as minister secretary general of the presidency.
Mr. Faye (44 years old), who won the presidential election of March 24 from the first round with 54.28% of the votes, far ahead of the candidate Amadou Ba (35.79%), is the fifth president of Senegal since the country’s independence in 1960.
