He learned about the fact that he suffers from an incurable neurological diagnosis only in April. American soap opera star Eric Dane (52), however, does not lose hope. As he said, he wants to fight until he rules. The disease even saved his broken marriage.
“I have two daughters at home. I want to see them, you know, graduate from college and get married and maybe have my grandchildren. I want to be there for all of that. Dane became one of the advocates and fighters for research and treatment of this disease. He suffers from ALS, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). It is a serious and incurable neurodegenerative disease.
It gradually destroys the neurons that send signals from the brain and spinal cord to the muscles. This leads to muscle weakness and paralysis. Patients gradually lose the ability to speak, swallow and eventually even breathe. People who suffer from it live only three to five years after diagnosis.

The fact that the disease has a rapidly progressing course is also evidenced by the latest reports, according to which the actor was seen at the airport in Toronto. He appeared very frail and moved around with the help of a wheelchair.

“We’ve been married for 15 years, still are, and we have two beautiful children, so I think that’s a successful relationship, and that’s how we look at it,” she said.

However, she admitted that the news about her significant other’s poor health did not leave her cold. As she admitted, she and their two daughters are “taking it day by day”.

“For more than a century, ALS has been incurable, and we have stopped accepting the status quo. We need to find the fastest path to a cure, which is why I’ve teamed up with I Am ALS on the Push for Progress campaign. Our goal is a billion dollars over the next three years.”
“Together we will restore the groundbreaking Act for ALS, provide hopeful treatments to thousands of patients like me, and finally, finally, move toward ending this disease,” he continued, urging his followers to join the cause.
According to witnesses who saw him recently, he already has problems walking and was confined to a wheelchair. Even earlier, he also confessed to how he carries it all. “I wake up every day and it instantly reminds me that this is happening. It’s not a dream.”
