It acts as a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immunomodulator.

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is one of the traditional remedies to promote relief from cystitis.

A recent review published in the Bulletin of the National Research Center highlights that this species concentrates phytochemicals that are beneficial to human health.

Specifically, it is a natural source of fiber, minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids. In addition, it acts as a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immunomodulator. Due to this, its consumption helps to care for the urinary tract.

A study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine concluded that this plant promotes diuresis in humans. Although more studies are required, for now it is considered a supplement for problems such as bladder irritation.

This is how the infusion is prepared

You need 5 grams of dry dandelion and 250 milliliters of water.

Preparation:

Pour the dried dandelion into the boiling water. Cover the drink and let it steep for 8-10 minutes. After this time, strain and consume. Take 2 or 3 cups of the drink during the day.

In rare cases, dandelion can cause gas, diarrhea, and intestinal discomfort. Allergy sufferers may experience dermatitis, itching and irritation. In addition, it is contraindicated in case of bleeding disorders, renal failure, pregnancy and lactation.
