Cash is a hot topic in Austria, especially in the summer slump you can reach large parts of the population with it. Chancellor Karl Nehammer is probably also aware of this and wants to fill the media void with his dispensable demand for cash in constitutional status. The ÖVP leader has all the attention on his side, but in terms of content the initiative is in vain – and is driven more by party-political considerations than by honest concerns regarding the well-being of the population.
