The coffin of Elizabeth II has arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh

The hearse carrying the remains of Queen Elizabeth II arrived on Sunday at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of British monarchs in Edinburgh, where a compact crowd had gathered and where the coffin will spend the night.

The convoy carrying the sovereign had left around 4 a.m. (QC) Balmoral Castle, where she died Thursday at the age of 96, and traveled nearly 300 kilometers in the Scottish countryside, tens of thousands of people moved gathering and applauding as it passes.
