The customs clearance of parcels is now taken care of by the Post Office

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

Like all other carriers, La Poste passes on this cost to the administration fees.

From 0 to 7.5 euros

– It costs nothing when payment of customs and VAT fees is made at the time of purchase.

– From 2 to 5 euros if this payment is made on the site of the post.

– 7.5 euros when the customer has not paid anything upstream and payment is made when the postman delivers the package.

The objective of the Post Office remains to systematize the payment upstream.

The parcels concerned are those ordered on online sites, for an amount greater than 22 euros and parcels sent from individual to individual for a value of 205 euros.

Dominique Adrian, the regional director of La Poste, specifies this new organization:

Management fees only concern parcels subject to customs taxation
