The decision of Imran Khan’s disqualification and removal from party office is reserved

The Election Commission has reserved the decision of the case related to the disqualification and removal of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan from the party post. A 5-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the case, Imran Khan’s lawyer Shoaib Shaheen and petitioner Khalid Mehmood advocate in the Election Commission.

Shoaib Shaheen said in his arguments that we have submitted the record of intra-party elections to the Election Commission, now this case should be over, legally this matter is over because the new chairman of the party has arrived.

Shoaib Shaheen said that Akbar S. Babar is filing a petition if you want to pursue this case, then pursue it. On this, the Chief Election Commissioner said that you are giving an opportunity to Khalid Mahmood to file a petition against the new chairman as well.

Petitioner Khalid Mehmood said that you should write in the order that the ex-chairman of PTI has been convicted and cannot hold any position in the party. The Chief Election Commissioner said that ex-chairman PTI has not contested the election, we cannot say anything about it.

The Election Commission asked for the record regarding the election of the PTI chairman and reserved the decision regarding the disqualification of the former chairman.

The Election Commission says that in the light of PTI’s record, a decision will be made regarding the disqualification of former Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.
