Pittsburgh (US): In long-term cohabiting couples, wives are the first to lose romantic feelings, a study has found. The report was prepared by examining the relationship of 3,900 couples. The study was conducted on people who had been together for two to 20 years following getting engaged or married.

The data was prepared by identifying the level of love felt for the partner by investigating the mood of the wife and husband, with whom they spend time and at regular intervals. In this, it was found that love feelings in wives decrease faster than husbands.

Women who have been married for a long time spend more time on housework and cooking. A study published in Psychological Science found that men who were married or engaged spent more time resting and sleeping.

A professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA, who conducted the study, said that although romance and love are decreasing, they are still there.
