The mayor of Uccle, Boris Dilliès (MR) is trying in particular to find the owners.

On the side of the municipality of Uccle, pro activity is in the spotlight. Boris Dilliès explains: “We take the steps ourselves vis-à-vis the owners and the justices of the peace, but the legal framework is not in the hands of the mayor. We try to put an end to these squat situations which are not acceptable.”

During the intervention in Anderlecht at the level of the petrol pump, a firefighter was seriously injured. Walter Derieuw, spokesperson for Siamu, explains that the risk is greater when working in squats, due to the lack of information regarding the building.

The municipality of Uccle has “set up a precise follow-up of each squat, and proposes meetings between the police, taxation, social and prevention services to put an end to the squats and find the owners” says the mayor.
