The Egyptian Medicine Authority called for the seizure and investigation of fraudulent and counterfeit packages of the drug “Osteocare Liquid 120 ML” that may be found in the local market and government units.
The authority said in Circular No. 26 of 2023, which was obtained by Masrawy, that the counterfeit package bears the number: 22101055, and is produced by VITABIOTICS.
“Osteocare” is a syrup used as a nutritional supplement to improve some body functions, especially bone health.
The Drug Authority explained the ways to distinguish between original packages and fraudulent and counterfeit packages of the drug, including the shape of the packages in terms of the outer carton.
She stressed that in the event of a complaint, please refer to the pharmacist to verify the packaging, or call the hotline 15301, or the Authority’s website.
