Kottayam: An elephant being transported in a vehicle ran over in a trunk near Changanassery. An elephant named Vazhapally Mahadevan was killed. The incident took place when the elephant was brought back following the festival and tried to unload it.
The elephant got out of the lorry and overturned the lorry. Papans also faced difficulty in going near the elephant due to its prowess. Finally, the elephant squad reached the spot and drugged the elephant from a nearby building.
