The family of the abducted Uriel Baruch announced this evening (Tuesday) that they received a message from the IDF that he was murdered on October 7 and that his body is being held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Baruch, 35 years old from the settlement of Givon, was abducted from the party near Ra’im. He left behind his wife Racheli, two Children aged 8 and 5, parents and three siblings. Baruch is the 36th abductee declared dead by Israeli officials, out of 134 held by Hamas.

Baruch was born and raised in Kfar Saba to his parents Naomi and Amir and had three brothers. Later he also lived in Pisgat Ze’ev. On October 7, Baruch spent time with his friend Michael Yoav at the “Nova” party. When the alarms started, the two tried to return to their homes together. Baruch had time to update Racheli on what was happening, but later she heard calls of “Allah Akbar” from the phone. His friend Yoav was found shot in the car two days later.
His wife Racheli told regarding their first meeting regarding a month ago. “We met at a nature party, we realized immediately that we belong to each other and a great love developed. Within six months we got married, I became pregnant. We are different in every aspect, and those who meet us find it hard to believe that we are a couple. But in essence we are two halves of a whole.”
