On December 6, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar had said that the politicians who have discussed security issues for the general elections will consider if there is a demand to deploy the army for security in the elections.

On December 28, in the Corps Commanders Conference chaired by Army Chief General Asim Munir, it was decided that the Pakistan Army will provide support to the Election Commission in the general elections.

It should be noted that the general elections in the country are to be held on February 8, for which preparations have entered the final stages, the Election Commission has also frozen the funds of all local government departments.
