Urgent: Annual Comps Municipalities Meeting in Gironde A Success
For the annual reunion, members from the five Comps municipalities—located in Aveyron, Drôme, Var, and Gard—joined forces in Gironde this year. Hosted by the Coms My Village association, the event took place over three days from May 3rd to May 5th, 2025. This convivial gathering featured visits to emblematic Girondin sites, musical entertainment, and festive meals.
Historical Remains and Modern-day Connections
Participants had the opportunity to visit the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa and its museum in Plassac, providing a unique glimpse into the region’s rich historical past. This cultural immersion was complemented by lively musical performances and shared meals with local bands, affectionately known as bandas.
Community and Collaboration
The event emphasized community and camaraderie, with around fifty Gardois members from the Coms My Village association mingling with their counterparts from other regions. The weekend was a celebration of the crowds’ shared heritage and a gesture of friendship among the different communes bearing the name Comps.
