the former Renault factory will be used for a new brand – La Nouvelle Tribune

The former factory of the French car manufacturer Renault was officially renamed to Moskvitch, according to the State Register of Legal Entities. The changes were registered on June 3. Previously, the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyaninhad said that the Renault Russia plant, now owned by Moscow, would produce cars under the Moskvitch brand, and that Kamaz would become the main technological partner of the revived Moscow plant.

It is planned to initially launch the production of cars with internal combustion engines and in the future electric cars. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation plans to start production of cars under the Moskvitch brand at the former Renault Russia plant this year. Dmitry Pronin, deputy director of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development, was appointed director of the automobile plant. (Tasse)
