The government has announced an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel

The government of Pakistan has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products and has increased the price of petrol by seven rupees per liter and the price of diesel by more than nine rupees.

According to the notification issued by the finance department on Sunday and Monday night, the price of petrol has been increased by seven rupees 45 paisa per liter.

After this increase, the new per liter price of petrol has become 265 rupees 61 paise. Earlier, the price of petrol per liter was Rs 258 16 paise.

Similarly, the price of diesel per liter has been increased by nine rupees 56 paise, after which its price per liter has increased from 267 rupees 89 paise to 277 rupees 45 paise.

According to the notification of the Finance Department, the new prices of petroleum products will be applied from 12 midnight between 30th and 1st July.

Earlier on June 14, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, calling it an ‘Eid gift’ to the people.

On June 14, the government announced a reduction in the price of petrol by 10 rupees 20 paisa per liter and diesel price by 2 rupees 33 paisa per liter.

Pakistan sets fuel prices on a fortnightly basis, adjusting for fluctuations in the international energy market and parity against the rupee and dollar, allowing the government to pass on the impact to consumers.

On June 1, the price of petrol was reduced by 4 rupees 74 paise and the price of diesel by 3 rupees 86 paise per litre.
