Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of the small screen: “The Crown” or “Dynasty” at Buckingham Palace
Elizabeth II was the first cathodic queen. His coronation, on June 2, 1953, was the first to be broadcast on television – and in Mondovision. She was also the pioneer of televised Christmas greetings from December 25, 1957. Finally, she opened the doors of Buckingham Palace to a television crew for the documentary Royal Family broadcast by the BBC in June 1969 – an initiative that Her Majesty regretted to the point of banning any rebroadcast since.
