The High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of Swapna Suresh

Kochi: The High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail petition filed by Swapna Suresh and PS Sarith, accused in a gold smuggling case, in a conspiracy case once morest Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Justice Viju Abraham dismissed the bail application. The government informed the High Court that the charge once morest the accused was only a bailable offense and that the circumstances for the arrest did not exist and therefore the anticipatory bail application would not exist.

The anticipatory bail is a politically motivated allegation. The government told the court that both were intent on killing prominent members of the community and that PS Sarith was not a defendant in the case. But Sapna’s argument was that police harassment was continuing. The government counsel informed the High Court that Swapna and Sarith would not be arrested under the present circumstances. The government told the high court that it might not guarantee that he would not be arrested in the future.

Meanwhile, the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police had registered a case once morest PC George and Swapna Suresh on the complaint of KT Jalil MLA.
