New York “is being destroyed by the immigration crisis” under the Biden administration, the city’s Democratic mayor, Eric Adams, said Friday, quoted by Fox News.

Adams also spoke out once morest his city’s politicians, accusing them of not trying hard enough to counter the problem. “None of my colleagues went to Washington DC to fight for resources, which is going to undermine every department in our city,” he said.

On Wednesday, the mayor made similar comments, saying that “the national government has turned its back on New York,” adding that “every service in this city will be impacted by the crisis (generated) by asylum seekers.”

According to an internal report, obtained by The New York Post in February, the city will spend $4.2 billion through June 2024 to resolve the immigration crisis, twice the number Adams predicted.

Meanwhile, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul plans to provide the city with $1 billion in aid for immigrants over 2 years, which is less than 30% of the amount needed.
