Forty years ago, the AIDS virus was identified. From the first television news where psychosis reigns, to the images of the first Sidaction: the media played a major role in the fight once morest the virus. In this new issue of “21h Médias”, associations, scientists and artists who work to raise awareness on the issue will look back on the highlights of the history of AIDS in the media. The campaigns of the Italian brand Benetton, the visit of Princess Lady Di who inaugurated one of the very first centers for the sick in 1987, “Act Up” which erected a giant condom on the obelisk of the Place de la Concorde in 1993… Julien Bellver and his team will decipher these shocking images with their witnesses. And Christophe Dechavanne will recount the strongest moments of his commitment: the very first Sidaction, but also his fight to promote condoms for more than 30 years…
