The issue of rising prices and chicken prices reached the parliament, following a written question directed by MP Nadia Tahami to the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests.

The MP for the Progress and Socialism Party confirmed that: “The increasing rise in the prices of basic commodities in our country, which have reached record levels, is still continuing, including but not limited to: poultry meat, which is the most consumed by citizens in our country,” adding that “poultry prices have now blatantly exceeded the already weak and low purchasing power, especially since the price of one kilogram has reached 26 dirhams, which causes great discontent and resentment among citizens, especially during this summer period when parties and events are held.”

In this context, MP Nadia Tahami asked the Minister of Agriculture about “the measures that will be taken to limit the exorbitant rise in poultry meat in particular and basic food products in general, as well as the measures you have taken, and which the ministry intends to take, in order to monitor poultry meat prices, to avoid further increases, especially since it is considered one of the basic consumer goods for citizens after red meat has inflamed their pockets,” says Nadia Tahami.
