The José María Córdova de Rionegro international airport was forced to suspend its operations as a result of an emergency with a plane that left the runway during the followingnoon of this Thursday.

According to the first reports, the incident occurred around 1:30 in the followingnoon, when the aircraft was carrying out landing maneuvers.

As reported by Airplan, the airport operator, the flight was destined for Panama and carried three crew members and eight passengers, including a child.

Despite the trauma in the air operation, Airplan clarified that no injured people were present.

By 3:00 p.m. this Thursday, at least 2 flights had been cancelled, 14 had delays, and another 4 had been diverted.

Likewise, the airport reported that it had closed access to the national and international lounges because their capacity was full.

Airplan indicated that it is waiting for the authorization of the Civil Aeronautics to normalize the operation.
