The “Lebanese National Bloc” criticizes the decision to demolish the wheat pellets and expresses its solidarity with the families of the victims of the port

The “Lebanese National Bloc” party said in a statement, “The government met yesterday for the first time following signing the initial agreement with the International Monetary Fund. Of course, and as usual, its meeting came without result, and it failed to agree on a draft law amending banking secrecy in accordance with what is required in the agreement. On the issue of livelihood, it also failed to develop a plan to address the worsening wheat crisis. On the other hand, the parties to the failed government agreed to take a decision to demolish the rubble at the port of Beirut.

And he considered that “the decision to demolish the rubbish, which was taken despite the strong opposition of the victims’ families to it, and the recommendations of the Syndicate of Engineers can be preserved, and in light of the government’s own attempts to obstruct the investigation, is a described and continuous attempt to obliterate the crime, evade accountability and erase memory.”

The bloc affirmed, “its full solidarity with the families of the victims in their refusal to demolish the clowns, as the memory of the city is not made by a failed government, but by its people with their sacrifices, struggle, survival and success in creating a better future.”
