The Moscow Polytechnic University presented the Amber electric car. Made from Russian materials, will be produced at a former BMW plant

Moscow Polytechnic University (MAMI) showed a prototype of the Amber electric car.

It is entirely made from domestic components by order of the Kaliningrad enterprise Avtotor, which previously produced Kia, Hyundai and BMW.

The company plans to produce 50 thousand serial electric vehicles per year, starting in 2025. The first copies are planned to be assembled on the assembly line in the second half of next year.

The final design of the car will differ significantly from the presented version. When creating the prototype, the plant used Lada Vesta parts.

There are no technical specifications yet. It is known that the new product will have a frame-panel construction. This vehicle will belong to class L7 (heavy quadricycles).

The plant calls the electric car highly localized because it uses only Russian-made components, including the engine and electronics. [Подъём]
