A number of social media pioneers shared a strange story for the first time of its kind, as an Indian court issued a rare double life sentence once morest an Indian convicted of killing his wife by making a cobra bite her while she was sleeping.
Suraj Kumar, 28, was arrested at his home in the southern state of Kerala last year following his wife died of a snakebite, according to the German News Agency.
A Kollam district court on Monday found Kumar guilty of murdering and poisoning his 25-year-old wife, and that he tried to kill his wife with a snake, according to the Judicial News Portal, Live Law.
The judge sentenced the accused to two consecutive life sentences, and the Indian Supreme Court warned of a trend in snakebite killings.
