The United States considers the most important task of supplying Ukraine with long-range air defense systems, such as the S-300 air defense system. This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
According to the Pentagon chief, long-range air defense systems in the current situation play a crucial role during hostilities. Also, the US Secretary of Defense stressed the need for the most prompt delivery of heavy weapons to Ukraine.
Earlier, S-300 air defense systems were transferred to the Ukrainian side by Slovakia. In return, the United States promised to supply Bratislava with American Patriot air defense systems.
