Gold prices continued their jump in Egypt during trading today, Friday, despite the decline in the price of crude globally, and the price of the gold pound increased by regarding 400 pounds today, compared to the prices of the end of trading yesterday.
The increase in the price of a gram yesterday pushed the price of the gold pound to rise above the level of 11 thousand pounds, but the continuous increase today brought the price of the gold pound to the level of 11400 pounds, by 3:30 pm on Friday.
The price of a gold pound is equivalent to the price of 8 grams of 21 karat gold, and the price may vary from one merchant to another, and this price is equal to the value of gold in a pound.
And according to what Nadi Naguib, former Secretary General of the Gold Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, told Masrawy, gold prices are witnessing successive jumps in the local market, due to the high dollar exchange rate.
