Avtograd news sources believe that AvtoVAZ will try to keep at least the body of the budget model, since the conveyor is ready for the release of the Granta successor (the commissioning stage has been completed). However, the technology of this new Lada is “sharpened” for foreign suppliers, so the reengineering of the model will be lengthy. On the positive side, work on the Granta successor project has not been cancelled, so there is still hope for its serial production.
