2024-01-24 20:15:45

Director of the Media Focus Center, Salem Zahran, pointed out today, Wednesday, that “the numbers approved on paper do not reflect the actual reality.” He provided a simple summary of the general concept of the budget, stressing that it relates to government revenues and expenditures, but the reality shows that there are major challenges, as taxes and fees are not paid. properly, and government departments lack efficiency in implementation.

He added in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon” radio, “The budget was not a sign of dignity for the Lebanese people, but rather a response to pressure from the international community.”

Regarding the presidency, Zahran pointed out “the lack of serious discussion on this issue.”

Pointing out that “the quintet that was formed with the aim of choosing a new president faces challenges and internal negotiations.”

He expressed his doubt regarding the existence of a new president in 2024, pointing to “clear divisions within the quintet and his emphasis that the opinion of each country remains hidden behind the curtain.”

In conclusion, Zahran hoped that “he was wrong in his expectations regarding the absence of a new president next year.”
